If you have a general suggestion or want to volunteer for something, give a call or email our Silo Ridge President Stephen Lynn or simply email siloridgemc@gmail.com.
Before making changes to the exterior of your home, adding an outbuilding, storage shed, pool, deck, etc., you need the approval of your immediate neighbors as well as the Silo Ridge Architectural Review Committee. The process is simple: just put together drawings and a descriptions of your proposed improvements, get your immediate neighbors to sign off on the drawings, and then give them to the committee or board. Shed plans will be approved within 2 weeks. Other items will be brought to the BoD for approval within 30 days. Please go through the approval process to make sure the neighborhood stays beautiful and to head off any hassles down the road. Keep in mind to check Pittsfield Township requirements as well.
Storage sheds - Silo Ridge has specific requirements for outbuildings and storage sheds (see Shed guidelines). In addition, Pittsfield Township has regulations about the placement of such things. You may access these by visiting the Pittsfield Township web site and look under the R1A listing in the 38 Zoning Ordinance section. So when planning that next summer project, do a little homework beforehand and we'll all be a little happier.
The activities committee organizes our annual neighborhood get together in the park each year. The party typically features a bounce house for the kids, ice cream, food for all, and is a good opportunity to meet neighbors.
Thanks to our residents who keep our neighborhood looking fresh by picking up trash on their walks around the neighborhood and park. The parks committee welcomes suggestions and volunteers for this committee. Let a board member, committee member, or siloridgemc@gmail.com know if there is a need or wish for this area.
Park (14 lovely acres) - Annual brush hogging of some natural areas in the park is typically done in the fall to manage overgrowth. Please use our picnic benches, swings, and park as part of your enjoyment to living in Silo Ridge. The bonfire rules are here.
Mowing - DK Outdoor Services provided our park and subdivision perimeter mowing again this year. In addition, they completed a park clean-up of low hanging branches & front entrance maintenance to the extent of trimming and weed control. Keep in mind that any overhang or encroachment of vegetation into the perimeter easement areas of the sub are the responsibility of our residents. Part of the pond perimeter continues to be mowed to the waterline to better enable fishing.
The entranceway committee maintains the entrance way sign areas during the growing months and keeps things looking nice. Help is always appreciated!
The welcome committee makes sure new residents receive a welcome basket and neighborhood information, and requests new resident contact info to update our neighborhood directory. Please let us know if any new neighbors move in near you so we can ensure they receive their Silo Ridge welcome.
This committee has the updated Silo Ridge resident directory printed annually (each fall) and manages the printing and mailing each December of the new directory booklet, dues pamphlet for upcoming year, new year budget for residents to vote on, etc.
This committee manages the Nextdoor and Facebook groups for our neighborhood and posts relevent SRMC news on these platforms.
This committee prepares the Silo Ridge newsletters that are emailed and sometimes physically mailed to residents.
This committee manages and updates the Silo Ridge website.
The nomination/ election committee seeks two residents/shareholders each election season (September-early November) who are not current Board Members and are not running for office to help organize and handle all responsibilities for this year’s election.
